2018-2024: PhD Chemistry at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune
2015-2017: MSc Chemistry at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur
Dr. Pooja Sindhu earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, where her doctoral work was recognized with the Gold Medal and the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in Chemistry. Her doctoral research centered on the rational design and development of lattice-matched and lattice-mismatched heterostructured thin films of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Through systematic investigation of their electrical transport properties, she gained fundamental insights into charge transport mechanisms, interfacial coupling effects, and the electronic behavior of hetero-interfaces, with implications for nanoelectronics.
Her current research focuses on the design of MOF-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), with particular emphasis on understanding how nanoscale confinement and heterostructure engineering govern charge transfer processes and catalytic activity.
