Lehrstuhl für Anorganische Chemie mit Schwerpunkt Neue Materialien

A distinctive combination of inorganic main group and metal-organic chemistry with solid state and materials chemistry is used to investigate molecular clusters and a wide range of intermetallic compounds.

Main topics are structure - property relations in semiconductors, superconductors, materials for energy conversion and energy storage as well as molecular clusters, which can serve as building units for well-defined nanometer sized materials.

A broad range of synthetic methods, structural characterization techniques and physical property measurements are applied. State of art quantum chemical methods allow a deep understanding of non-classical bonds in metal clusters and the electronic structure of solids.
