
Welcome to the festivities in honor of Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. mult. Ernst Otto Fischer. On Saturday, November 10th, 2018, the Nobel Prize winner would have been 100 years old.
On Friday, November 9th, 2018, the Depertment of Chemistry awards honorary doctorates to Prof. Susumu Kitagawa, Kyoto University, to Prof. Enrique Iglesia, UC Berkeley, and to Prof. Jens K. Nørskov from the Technical University of Danmark. At the Hans-Fischer lecture hall (CH21010) in Garching, the scientists present their groundbreaking research on materials chemistry and catalysis.
On Saturday, November 10th, 2018, there will be the festive commemoration of Prof. Ernst Otto Fischer. In the Friedrich von Thiersch lecture hall (2300) on the main campus, alumni of his research group, current members of the department, guests and the interested public meet to honor the life and work of this outstanding personality.
