Multifunctional MOFs, Clusters and Composites
We develop functional molecular materials for advancing applications in energy conversion, catalysis, gas storage and separation, chemical sensing, photonics and microelectronics.
To illustrate, metal-rich complexes, atomic precise clusters, nanoparticles and nanocomposites can substitute rare noble metals for catalytic transformation of small molecules.
In addition, the combinatorial building-block principle of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) yields ample opportunities for the manipulation and design of the chemistry of coordination space in pores and channels accessible to guest molecules. Our aim is to integrate chemical and physical multifunctionality in photo- and electro-active, catalytic and stimuli-responsive MOFs (see research overview).
Advanced Functional Materials
Abstract: Coordination bond breakage and rearrangement offer a previously unexplored route to enhance the dielectric properties of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Here, we introduce a controlled…
Angewandte Chemie - International Edition
Abstract: The heterobimetallic M14 cluster [Co3Ga2]H(μ2-GaTMP)9 (1, TMP = 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl) was obtained by treating CoCl2 with GaTMP in the presence of Mg and H2 as reduction additives. 1…
Chemical Science
Abstract: The stabilization of zero oxidation state group (IV) metal centers in readily accessible compounds on a preparative scale remains a significant challenge. Substituting hydrocarbon ligands in the…
Science Bulletin
Abstract: The electrochemical conversion of CO2 to ethylene glycol (EG) represents a sustainable pathway, reducing dependence on fossil fuels while avoiding CO2 emissions. Effectively regulating ethylene…
Small Science
Abstract: Unlike 2D frameworks where conductivity is largely confined to in-plane transport, the scu topology offers 3D conduction pathways that enhance bulk charge mobility. When integrated with redox-active…
ACS Catalysis
Abstract: Ethylene methoxycarbonylation (EMC) reaction, a key carbonylation process for methyl propionate production, typically relies on acid promoters and phosphine ligands in conventional homogeneous…
Advanced Science
Abstract: Conduction and polarization are known to profoundly impact conductive metal–organic frameworks (c-MOFs) for their applications in electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption. Albeit a few advances along…
Journal of Chemical Education
Abstract: Model experiments represent an established pedagogical approach for making original chemical content accessible for students in learning contexts. However, the terminology used is not consistently…
Advanced Science
Abstract: The pyrolytic synthesis of an ordered macro-meso-micro porous carbon cathode material (OM-PC) with integration of a Co3ZnC/Co catalyst is reported. It is derived from a Co-doped ZIF-8 framework via a…
Advanced Materials
Abstract: The confluence of pervasiveness, bioaccumulation, and toxicity in freshwater contaminants presents an environmental threat second to none. Exemplifying this trifecta, per- and polyfluoroalkyl…
