Research Areas

The area of work lies in the area of inorganic solid-state chemistry and the development of new materials. The focus of the research is the production and detailed characterization of metal-rich compounds, preferably with the nitride ion as a component. In addition to determining the structure of the new compounds, particular attention is paid to the electronic and magnetic properties as well as to mechanical and chemical behavior. This data is essential for understanding chemical bonding as well as for potential applications.
