Research Areas

As a university institution, the Institute of Radiochemistry has a unique infrastructure in Germany for dealing with radioactive substances, which, in combination with best radiation facilities at the new research neutron source FRM-II, open up unsurpassed potential. The main research areas are the production and application of radioisotopes for nuclear medicine, radioanalysis with neutrons, the study of the chemistry of superheavy elements, intrinsic colloids of actinides, as well as research and development work for nuclear technology.
