Research Focus
I am a chemist and battery researcher with expertise in electrochemistry, interfacial phenomena, and advanced battery diagnostics. My work focuses on understanding and mitigating degradation processes in lithium-ion batteries to extend their lifetime and performance.
- Interfacial side reactions in Li-ion batteries: Mechanistic studies of SEI formation, electrolyte oxidation, and transition metal dissolution.
- Operando diagnostics for detection of parasitic reactions: Development of a three-electrode setup for O2 and transition metal quantification and improved OEMS methodology for gas evolution characterization.
- Porous electrode structure and Li-ion transport characterization: Development of advanced techniques using mercury intrusion porosimetry, He-pycnometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy
- Battery aging and modeling: Linking degradation mechanisms to cell-level performance loss and lifetime prediction.
