Lorenz Schiegerl was awarded for his poster at the 15th International Symposium on Inorganic Ring Systems (IRIS15) 2018 in Kyoto/Japan with the Chemistry Letters Young Award.


From 24–29 of June 2018 scientists from all over the world met at the University of Kyoto in Japan on the 15th International Symposium on Inorganic Ring Systems. This symposium is the premier international conference on the topic of main group chemistry. Besides the numerous scientific talks regarding issues of current research, the participating doctoral candidates could present their scientific contributions as posters. Thereby, Lorenz J. Schiegerl (Technical University of Munich) was awarded with the Chemistry Letter Young Award of the Chemical Society of Japan for his poster about the topic „Six- and Eight-membered Rings of Germanium and Copper as well as Phosphorous Atoms Comprising Homoatomic Ge9 Clusters“.
