Research topic: Cluster Separation: Development of a suited Methodology
The PhD project aims to investigate the chromatographic properties of small transition metal clusters and their reactivity. A central aspect of this project is the synthesis and characterization of metal clusters composed of copper or gold and a group 13 elements (E). Depending on the reaction conditions, these cluster-synthesis yield mixtures of species with different sizes and compositions which are called “libraries”. The implementation of a strategy for cluster-separation to analyze the constitution of these libraries to isolate and study the different species independently would lead to a better understanding of these intermetallic systems.
