Research Topic: Metal-organic Framework-based Thin Film Electrocatalysts for Selective Hydrogenation of Organic Compounds

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) feature regular and flexibly tunable metal centres, versatile organic linkers, extremely rich pore structure and huge surface areas, all of which are beneficial for catalytic reactions that usually require active catalytic sites and pathways for transporting reactants and products. So my research will take advantage of these characteristics of MOFs to probe the effect of the pore structure and metal centre on electrocatalytic hydrogenation (ECH) and finally to discover several catalyst candidates that can efficiently and selectively hydrogenate organic compounds.
