Project

LiProTech: Lipogenesis elucidation via Proteomics Techniques

Description of the Project

This project is aimed at identifying essential proteins correlated to lipid biosynthesis and regulation in Cutaneotrichosporon oleaginosus, an industrially promising yeast. This approach would provide new insight, valuable indications and a better understanding of lipid accumulating mechanisms. The elucidation of de-novo lipogenesis by time-resolved proteomics would directly contribute to the genetic engineering of this yeast. To this end, proteins identified as key players in lipid biosynthesis pathways will be manipulated in order to increase lipid titers and deliver tailored fatty acid profiles.
